  24. I couldn't agree with you more. When the 68K emulation was first released
  25. by Apple it was clocked at a speed of a 25MHz 040. Given that the Power 
  26. Amigas and PPC boards will be using a faster PPC than was originally 
  27. available at the time that the emulation was released and that the 
  28. software has likely been somewhat improved since then, the performance is 
  29. likely to be higher. But for the sake of argument, lets say that all you get 
  30. is 25 MHz 040 performance. That means that putting anything below a 
  31. regular 040 would just slow you down. I would say putting even a faster 040 
  32. you would still be losing, because the newer versions of the PPC and the 
  33. emulation software will likely give you faster emulation speeds. It just 
  34. isn't justifiable to add another CPU to a board (and like the above 
  35. poster said, only an 060 makes sense), for what is really a stop gap 
  36. measure while the Amiga OS is completely ported. It would add 
  37. unnecessarily to the cost of such a board. The only reason I heard that 
  38. the board had such an extra CPU onboard was because it was a prototype.
